I am not denying my past, definately not, but the name Flowingthought does simply not fit to me anymore.
I work with my given name, Oliver Oettli since I became professional and this shall also be my account name here.

I just spent the last hour cleaning all in all 150 deviations from my gallery.
I used DA as my online portfolio since I started to take pictures. I always uploaded what I considered my "best shots", but on one hand the quality of pictures at the beginning was simply not good and sometimes I had the feeling I just uploaded shots for "Uploading sake".

I have now cleaned out very much. I did not delete every old picture, even if the quality is often in no way professional. But it is my past and it is my work from back then. However, when I see that 4/5 of my shots here do in no way reflect my work, my quality and my ambitions, then I seriously need to clean out.

I have left many pictures that I simply like, no matter whether the quality is really good. The others I deleted, regardless of Favourites and Comments. Sorry. But we all know that we always get judged not by our best work, but by our worst.

So, I hope you still enjoy the gallery and after all, I hope you get a feeling of how much my work evolved in the past years.

Hello there...

After a while, I am comming to you with something that just made me completely speechless.
I need to tell this someone (preferably a big audience on the internet) and you guys seem fot for this.

Since a few days I had an awful lot of visits from a website that I have never heared of before. So I started wondering how this may be, some links of the referes did not work and I did not manage to look at this page. 10 MInutes ago I finally made it.

And what I saw made me drop off the chair...

Now you may wonder what the big deal is.
Well, have a look at this (MY) website: [link]

You do not need to understand german to get the point.
Simply look at the text, the menu and the content.

This guy seriously copied my entire website. EVERYTHING!
What he did was he copied my setup, my menu, my ideas, my functions and the entire text. Every single fucking word. He seriously took over exactly EVERYTHING of my website. I have worked 3 months on my website. Every text has been worked on a long time. It is my business website. My career, my existence, so to speak. The textes about me, my motivation, my offers, my prices, my experience, my working methods... he just copied everything one to one.

I'm.... speechless...
There's nothing I could add to that.

I tried to send him an email. The email adress seems not to be valid. BUt fact is, the website is online and it is my website. What he did was he used his layout, his pictures and his name.

I am a nice guy. I expect my work to be stolen, I understand it if someone steals an idea or two. That's the internet after all. But this is so absolutely unbelievable.. whatever way there is to make him never ever even trying this again, I'm in.
Wow, I'm furious!

This is my damn existence, years of work he's trying to steal...

Addition:
The link seems not to work anymore (once again). I don't know what he's doing, whether he found out that I was on his website.

I can also confirm that at least two of his pictures on Fotocommunty are stolen aswell and not his own work.

People that watch me noticed that I am basically nonexistant on DA anymore.

This is a sad fact, but I can't change it right now. I have no time for DA cause I am terribly busy. Unfortunately not with work, but with me trying to get work.

This is not likely to change anytime soon because lets be honest, DA is nice, but it does not give me any money, doesn't help me to find clients and therefore it is a luxury. And at the moment I have no time nor money for luxury.
If you know anyone that needs picutres, that could use some of my work or that could in any way be of help to me (as client or supporter or whatever), let me know. I am a full time professional photographer now but still at the start of my career. And I need to take every chance I get.

Bsides this I have a brand new Website. I completely redid the whole thing and made it professional. I have also added new more picutres and some of them have never been posted on DA. Unfortunately it is only in german right now, but it shouldn't matter if you only want to get a feeling and have a look at the gallery.
